چکیده
Background: Due to the low sensitivity of current diagnostic tests and increasing medication resistance, diagnosing treating tuberculous pleural effusion is difficult. Gene Xpert a completely automated real-time nucleic acid amplification test that identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis besides rifampicin resistance within short time. Objective: assess role in diagnosis suspected cases compare it’s results with biopsy obtained by Abrahm’s needle Thoracoscope. Patients Methods: The present study was conducted on 60 patients who have strong suspicion after recording written consent Abasia chest hospitals at period from November 2017 May 2020. Results: 7 (11.7%) were diagnosed 42 (70%) tissue biopsy,25 them through thoracoscope 17 Abrams biopsy, there significant variance between these two methods (P > 0.05). Conclusion: We concluded that, has restricted capacity for fluid samples TB origin, which prevents its widespread application this setting.

Tuberculous pleural effusion.
Tuberculous pleural effusion occurs in approximately 5% of patients with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) infection1 and accounts for 4% of all TB cases in the United States.2 Diagnosis is challenging, with 48–96% of tuberculous pleural effusions negative by sputum acid-fast bacilli (AFB) stain and culture. Thoracentesis is frequently performed and shows an exudative, lymphocytic pleural effusio...
متن کاملApproach to undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion: the diagnostic yield of blind pleural biopsy
Background: Blind percutaneous pleural biopsy has traditionally been performed to investigate the etiology of exudative pleural effusion in which the initial thoracocentesis has been non- diagnostic. In view of the increasing use of image-guided and thoracoscopic pleural biopsies, this study examined the role of blind Abrams pleural biopsy in the investigation of the exudative pleural effusion ...

Pleural effusions are a common finding in emergency departments, with cytologic analysis traditionally required for definitive diagnosis. This article describes a classic sonographic appearance of tuberculous pleural effusion.
متن کاملTuberculous Pleural Effusion
Tuberculosis (TB) has traditionally been one of the major causes of pleural disease and until the earlier decades of the past century held as a principal paradigm of “pleuritis”. Indeed in the presence of a distinctly exudative effusion and a compatible clinical presentation the widely used term “pleuritis exudativa” insinuated a tuberculous aetiology and has therefore been understood to be syn...
متن کاملTuberculous Pleural Effusion.
When a patient presents with new pleural effusion, the diagnosis of tuberculous (TB) pleuritis should be considered. The patient is at risk for developing pulmonary or extrapulmonary TB if the diagnosis is not made. Between 3% and 25% of patients with TB will have TB pleuritis. The incidence of TB pleuritis is higher in patients who are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive. Pleural fluid...
